Pope Francis' Apostolic Blessing

Writing on behalf of Pope Francis, the Cardinal Secretary of State has informed us that His Holiness offers his apostolic blessing to all who venerate the Heart of St. John Berchmans while at the Cathedral and in Grand Coteau.  What a wonderful blessing to us all!
His Holiness prays that, “by the intercession and example of Saint John, the hearts of many will be converted to a deeper love of the Lord Jesus and a fervent desire to conform their lives to his holy will.”
Mindful that St. John Berchmans was preparing for the priesthood, the Pope made an additional desire known:   “that many young people will hear Christ’s call to serve him in the priesthood and the religious life, generously devoting their lives to the spread of the Gospel and the salvation of souls.”
“To all taking part in this significant ecclesial event, his Holiness cordially imparts his Apostolic Blessing as a pledge of joy and peace in the Lord.”
How wonderful to know that Pope Francis, himself a Jesuit, gives us his apostolic blessing as we honor and venerate this young Jesuit scholastic, St. John Berchmans.
